Sugar ‘n Cream vs Peaches & Creme

Hi all, have you ever wondered if Sugar ‘n Cream and Peaches & Creme are the same? They look the same, they have the similar color choices, and they almost look identical.

We all know that a lot of companies uses the same manufacturing warehouse for their products. The only difference is the brand name they slap onto them. So, let’s check out how similar these two brands are. Battle of the yarns!

Where to find them: Joann, Michaels, Yarnspiration, Online, etc.
Michaels: ~ $1.99
Joann: ~$2.99
Yarnspiration: ~$2.49
Cone Price: ~ $14.99

PEACHES & CREME (SAGE)

Where to find them: Wal-Mart Stores (I think it’s specifically for wal-mart because that’s the only place I’ve ever found them)

They both look consistent and similar to each other. I’ve used it for a couple years, they are identical to me.

MANUFACTURE ADDRESS

Both: Box 40, Listowel, Ontario N4W 3H3
(I searched it and it’s the Spinrite Manufacturing Company in Canada that also produces Bernat, Caron, Patons, Phentex, and wonderart, along with Lily Sugar ‘n Cream, but it does not say Peaches & Creme)

Hmmmm, interesting to say the least..

COMPANY WEBSITE

Lily Sugar n’ Cream: www.yarnspiration.com
Peaches & Creme: www.peachesandcreme.com
(leads to a wal-mart page that is obsolete, not sure if you can find them online at wal-mart. They used to have a page of their own, but was taken down a year or so ago, I believe)

LABELS/PACKAGING

They both look identical, same size, similar labels, and similar way the skein looks. The main difference is that the font and placements are different, as you can see in all the photos above.

OVERALL

The main differences between the two are the locations you can find the yarns and the pricing. The peaches and creme is significantly cheaper, well, when comparing it to Joann, but if you buy Lily’s from Michaels the price difference is only ~$0.20. My personal opinion, they are definitely made from the same manufacture, but different company names. Who knows. I buy a lot of both and sometimes use it interchangeably and I treat them as the same! Most of the time, if there are good sales I buy the Lily’s and if there aren’t any sales then I buy Peaches. No issues for me with both! Both great quality cotton yarn for me.

UPDATE

Just read that Sugar ‘n Cream bought out Peaches & Creme maybe 6 years ago? Peaches & Creme used to be based in North Carolina, but they sold it after some competition. So, technically, they are the same yarn, but who knows, you can’t really find real information from the companies, just what people have said in forums dated back many moons ago.

HAVE YOU GUYS USED THESE TWO BRANDS BEFORE? WHAT’S YOUR THOUGHTS ON IT? WHAT OTHER COTTON YARN HAVE YOU USED? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS!
