Hi all, back at ya with a new beanie design. This one was a long thought out one. You can only come up with so many designs that work out. Plus, depending on the yarn, the brand, hook size, etc. the design is going to look a bit different.
As always, I love using the basic 5mm, H hook because it just works out the best for me and the most common hook size beginners tend to use. I was going through my normal phase of “design block” if that is even a word. I knew I wanted texture, but how was I going to implement it! I think I finished making this hat and left it there for a week or two before I wrote up the pattern and took photos for the tutorial. I kept getting doubts that it’s going to be ugly, but I think I just needed time for it to sink in and for me to fully appreciate the outcome.
Not sure how long it took me to publish this hat design (designing, testing, writing, etc.) maybe a month-ish? Who knows, lol.
Here’s my testers, who did an amazing job:
ANGELA @alderandwillowx
MELISSA @of.june.knits
KAY @kaydipitykrafts
I really love how each testers used a faux fur pom! It’s such a cute idea. Most of the hats I design with poms, I tend to use the yarn pom because it’s the most convenient thing for me to make. Even though a pattern tells you to add a pom, you could technically use any type of pom! Also a coincidence, everyone is wearing glasses. You all are in sync 😀
