The Rosewood Bralette

Hi all, back again with a new top. I haven’t made ANY top in over 6 months and boy, was I rusty!

I had the most trouble with the “body of the top” portion. Since it’s a “complicated” design than I’m used to, it made finding the right amount of stitches a little hard for me. Writing the pattern wasn’t as hard, BUT trying to make it as understandable and not as cluttered and in 4 different sizes was a challenge! I had to change the prototype a bunch of time. I changed the back straps over 5+ times, I couldn’t find the right one for my top, but after several tries, I think I got it down.

I’m not sure if I was rusty, but this top took me so long to finish. I had so many issues. I guess that’s one of the downside of trying to make designs according to the seasons. You’ll get good at it then the season changes and when you have to go back to it, it’s like “starting over”. Hopefully, after this design, I’m able to make tops more smoothly. Who knows. This top took me over a month. Probably took me about 2 months to finish. I had so many things to do in between those months that I barely had time to sit down and crochet so it got prolonged. LIFEEEE, am I right?

Overall, this is definitely another one for the books. It’s always interesting going through some complications to learn more. Even if I’ve been crocheting for years, I always learn new things! I don’t think you can really create a pattern that pleases everyone. Especially doing sizes that have so many variations. For example, a large – 34DD, 36C/D/DD & 38A/B/C, that’s a whole bunch of sizes! It might fit everyone within that range, but it’ll look different on EVERYONE. Thank you to all the makers who took their time out to help me with this pattern, I whole heartedly appreciate it and I love every single one of your creations, color choices, and you ALL look so great!
